Maplehurst Farm Wedding

I had the pleasure of first being friends with Chelsea and Jake Sherwood. Newly done with school and just out of an internship, they gave me the chance to not only be a part of their wedding day, but to coordinate it. It is still one of my favorite weddings as I was able to support two people I appreciate as they vowed to spend the rest of their lives devoted to each other. Plus it was the first wedding I coordinated!

Chelsea and Jake are two of the most unique, charming individuals that complement each other so well. You can see the passion they have for each other just by watching them interact.

Like most couples, Chelsea and Jake had no idea where to start planning a wedding. We started with what the overall ambiance would be, what their top priorities were, and the hard conversation of how much they wanted to spend on it all. From there we booked the venue. They were not set on a particular day, they just knew they wanted a summer wedding which left us open to many venue possibilities. If you are not set on a day to get married but rather a season or month, go into picking a wedding day with an open mind and a lot more venues will be available.

Family

Before getting married Chelsea and Jake had their beautiful daughter Parker. After she was born she became their whole world. As you can see from the glow on both of their faces family means everything to them. Parker was a big part of their wedding day riding along in her little wagon as one of the flower girls. Weddings have a great way of bringing generations of family and friends together.

Jake and his mother were able to share a sweet moment after the I Do's. During the ceremony I like to watch the parents of the bride and groom, the love and pride shown on their faces is indescribable.

Weddings tend to never go as planned, but that isn't always a bad thing. Chelsea's brother surprised everyone with a song for his big sister on her wedding day. There was not a dry eye in the place.

The Details

As you can tell the creativity was awe-inspiring on their wedding day. Most everything was DIY'ed by Chelsea, or what the venue provided. She took what she imagined her wedding would look like and was able to create it exquisitely.

Tip from the Coordinator:

Use a crochet hook to get those hard to loop buttons on a wedding dress. The crochet hook will allow you to hook onto the fabric and easily pull it around the small buttons. It is an essential in my wedding emergency kit.

Always do a trial run bustling your wedding dress with your mother or one of your trusted bridesmaids so on the day it will be a breeze as they can be tricky.

For a picture booth they created this extra large picture frame and bought props to have fun with it.

Vows

The ceremony was simple and elegant. The greenery from the venue space was enough to make the whole backdrop pop - they did not need much more.
